NATIONAL SIGNING DAY - Lion Seniors Sign to Play in College

The Leander Lions Football Program signed three players to college and university teams on Wednesday February 2, 2011.

The three senior football players that have signed national letters of intent are:

  • Sr. Andy Gonzalez Defensive End - committed to Angelo State University.
  • Sr. Bradley Njoku Free Safety - committed to University of Idaho.
  • Sr. Justin Cano Offensive Guard/Center - committed to Mary Hardin Baylor.

  • Sr. Chase Keltgen Quarterback - will announce his commitment over the next two weeks.
  • Sr. Victor Don Juan Offensive Guard - will announce his commitment over the next two weeks.
  • Sr. Ryan Taylor Strong Safety - will announce his commitment over the next two weeks.

Coach Gideon also announced that senior kicker for the Lions Football team Dani Alvarado committed to the University of South Carolina Up-State Mens Soccer program today. Earlier this year Lions Safety and Quarterback Collin Chapman committed to Lamar University to play Division 1 Baseball.

That brings this year's 2010 football class to eight players that will play at the next level in a NCAA competitive sport.
