Steve Gideon has been the Head Coach of the Leander Lions since 2003. He has been a coach at Leander since 2001. His teams have won 5 District Championships, 5 Bi-District Championships, 3 Area Championships and 1 Regional Championships. His teams also were Regional Finalists twice and Quarter Finalists once.

Steve has been coaching for 27 years with 9 years of Head Coach/Athletic director/Coordinator experience He has made the playoffs in every classification he has coached in football.

Steve and Ralene Gideon have been married for 25 years. They have 2 children, daughter Quincee,22 and son Blake,19.

Ralene is a teacher at LHS and serves as the Quest facilitator and IB CAS coordinator.

Quincee graduated from LHS in 2005 with honors and is attending Texas A&M.

Blake graduated from LHS in 2008 and is attending the University of Texas at Austin where he is on scholorship to play football for the Longhorns as a defensive back. 

The Gideon's enjoy time at home with family and spending time on the family farms in Lampasas and Henderson counties
